Things To Do

Snowmobiling

For those wanting a guided outdoor adventure, snowmobiling is just the thing. There are several local companies to choose from. Many of the companies include all of the cold weather gear along with a heated seat on your snowmobile. Be sure to verify if they pick you up from your hotel. Snowmobiling is quite popular and does require an advanced reservation. See the links below for some of the great companies in the area!

Skiing

Skiing is available for all skill levels. The hotel has a free shuttle that runs hourly to the local lifts. You do not need a reservation but you can go online and to prepay and see their specials. You can also book ski lessons on the website below in addition to renting equipment if you decide not to fly with yours. Please see the concierge when you check in or call ahead for the details on the complimentary transportation schedule. If you decide to travel with your skis, please check with the front desk and they will check them for you so you don’t have to store them in your hotel room. If you are looking for something a little more technical, heli skiing is available as well. The local company offering this is listed below and does require a reservation.

Dog sledding

For the iconic Lake Louise experience, dog sledding is available daily. The tours vary and you can select your tour location as well depending on what you want to see. Be sure to dress warm for this! This is a popular activity and many guides are available. Dog sledding does require a reservation and a list of links to some of the guides are listed below.

Ice Skating

Ice skating is held directly in the back of the hotel on the frozen lake. You can choose a two hour rental or skate all day. The rink is complimentary to all guests so feel free to bring your skates from home. You can stop by the front desk at the hotel or concierge to rent a pair of skates. The rink is typically open from sunrise to around 11 pm so you can skate under the stars.

Ice Fishing

For an experience to remember, check out ice fishing. This activity by guides is sometimes done in huts across the ice. Most guides provide transportation to the site and warm beverages in your hut while you fish. If you choose a full fishing day a warm meal with be included as well. All guides provide cold weather attire if needed and all fishing gear. You guide should advise you on any permits needed and help you take care of this as well. Tubing

Tubing is another fun activity offered near the skiing. No experience is required. Groomed lanes are set up and safe for all ages. The complimentary shuttle from the hotel will take you directly there and runs hourly. Please see the concierge desk for the times.

Ice Climbing

Yea thats right… Get your climb on and take a risk. You don’t have to be experienced to give it a try. Check out some of the local guides and the experience of a lifetime!

Guided Hikes

There are two great trails right outside of the hotel. The front desk will provide you with a trail map and also offers a complimentary guide if you wish. One trail called the Fairview Lookout is 1.4 miles and is estimated to take about two hours due to the incline of the hike. This route offers beautiful views and pictures. The second trail called the Lakeshore Stroll is 2.4 miles and is estimated to take about two hours as well. This trail is much more relaxed. Please verify with the front desk that the trails are not closed due to weather if you plan to hike without a guide.

Snowshoeing

Just like it sound and for hiking through snow in the winter.

Shopping

As the hotel is quite remote, several shops are provided for your convenience. If you forgot to pack anything, the shopping wing has you covered. The shops vary from clothing and souvenirs to a photography shop as well as an art and jewelry store. Most shops are open from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm. Please be sure to walk through and see what’s there.

Spa

The spa is always a great spot to unwind. If you want to stay indoors the spa is a great option. It does get booked up so a reservation for this is always a good idea. They offer all of the amenities of a full service spa as well as hair and nail salon to get ready for the wedding. Indoor Pool

If you are looking to take a dip in the pool with amazing winter views without the cold, then the indoor pool is for you.  The massive windows ensure you don’t miss out on anything.  The pool is complimentary and open daily from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Restaurants

Take your pick at many of the amazing restaurants around the hotel property and within close proximity of Lake Louise.

Tea

Afternoon tea is offered daily by the hotel and located near the main lounge. Reservations are offered from 11 am to 2:30 pm and is served near the large windows near the lounge so you are sure to have an amazing view. Tea is a preset menu and is offered with or without champagne. If you have any dietary restrictions or preferences the hotel does ask that you make a reservation well in advance and reference those at the time of your booking.

Ice Bar

Warm up with a cocktail right on the frozen lake! The ice bar is located outside near the ice skating and offers a list of options from mulled wine to spiked hot chocolate or coffee. The ice bar is open all day and closures will depend on weather. Be sure to stop by for a sip.
